Sustainability, Conservation & The Environment

Are you passionate about the environment? Do you want to explore the interactions between animals, plants, people and the modern world we live in? If so, Sustainability, Conservation & the Environment is for you.

We only get one planet, and we want to protect it. You’d be working in a truly worthwhile sector once you’ve gained these qualifications, one driven by climate change concern and a need for more sustainable practices. Here at Coleg Cambria we’ll teach you how to monitor plant and animal populations, how to understand threats to ecosystems and how animals and people benefit from them, and how to better care for our land, water and air in a more sustainable way.

NEBOSH Environmental Management Diploma ex student Louise Smith Aldous

Studied – NEBOSH Environmental Management Diploma

I chose to study the NEBOSH Environmental Management Diploma after already completing the NEBOSH General Certificate and Environmental Certificate as this felt like it was the next challenge!

I work for ClwydAlyn Housing Association as a Health & Safety officer, so it’s really important for us to keep up to date with new health and safety and environmental laws and regulations changes, to keep our residents and staff safe and to protect the environment and make sure our actions aren’t causing harm to habitats and wildlife.

At ClwydAlyn our values and mission is to beat poverty, while being committed to act sustainably and considering our social impact so it was the perfect course. I have always found the college really helpful and supportive and I had so much encouragement and support from my tutor Pete!

Studied – NEBOSH Diploma in Environmental Management

I wanted to study the NEBOSH Diploma in Environmental Management to further my interest in environmental management and to work towards expanding my role and career progression to include environmental management, alongside health and safety.
This course will provide the necessary tools and knowledge to allow me to put what I have learned into practice and ultimately, manage any environmental impacts effectively from our organisation’s undertakings. Ensuring we as an organisation can raise awareness across the Group, minimise any negative impacts and where possible, maximise environmental benefits.

The support from Cambria was great, there was good contact prior to the course start date and I was able to contact the trainer just ahead of the course commencing, to understand the schedule of the course so that I could plan my work diary around college commitments. During the course the tutor was very knowledgeable, engaging and encouraged interaction throughout the course. The tutor also made items relatable by giving local and national examples and linking ideas and discussion points to all delegates’ industries and businesses.
