Thomas Hughes Lloyd
Studied – Level 3 Extended Diploma in Performing arts
Currently – Studying Dance at the University of Chester
“I chose to study performing arts at Coleg Cambria as I wanted to be more than just a dancer and I wanted to learn a range of different skills such as acting, singing, musical theatre and other dance forms.
“While studying I discovered that I enjoyed performing outside of dance, and the musical theatre work we did helped me learn new skills and other ways to perform.
“The qualification helped to build my confidence and opened my eyes to new ways of performing, it helped build new skills and refine existing ones. I have even taught workshops at Cambria and the connections I had built through my classmates and my lectures are still there today. It helped me see that there were new possibilities and gave me a taste of various fields of the industry. I have recently done TV work on BBC Young Dancer and Sky 1s Got to Dance and other work teaching dance classes and workshops.
“I loved college and I wish that I could go back in time and do it again, it was honestly so much fun and one of the best times of my life.”

I’m now employed by the BBC as a Presenter and News Correspondent and studying at Yale Sixth gave me the confidence and skills to go onto university. I made some amazing friends, had some great teachers who I’ll never forget and had a great time in Wrexham!
“I look back on my time at Yale with pride and fondness and will never forget it!”
