About Employer Skills North Wales
The Employer Skills Flintshire project is an exciting opportunity for you and your business. This project is specifically designed for the Employers and their employees that reside within Flintshire County Council.
Employer Skills Flintshire seeks to support employers with subsidised training. This will be offered to all sectors but specifically targeting regional growth areas including Advanced Manufacturing, Low Carbon, Digital, Agriculture, Food & Tourism, Health & Social Care and Management and other professional courses.
Is My Business Eligible For Employer Skills North Wales Funding?
- Sole traders, micro, small, medium & large businesses
- Registered in North Wales
- VAT Registration
- Confirmation from HMRC (self-employed).
What Support Will I Get?
You can access up to 100% subsidised training for your workforce (eligibility criteria applies).
Through discussions our Employer Engagement team will help to identify the skills gaps and training opportunities within your team. We’ll make sure the courses are the best fit for your business, to bring out the very best of your team.
Is My Employee Eligible For Employer Skills North Wales Funding?
Reside in Flintshire
Minimum 16 years of age
Paid employee of an eligible company
Right to live and work in the UK
Other eligibility criteria may apply.

Food & Drink Skills Wales are offering an opportunity to train and develop a skilled and capable workforce within the food and drink industry in Wales with up to 80% of training costs being funded by the project.
To be eligible for this funding, businesses must meet the following criteria:
- Be within the food production and manufacturing industry
- Be based in Wales
- Be able to demonstrate a clear return on investment
If all of the criteria is met, business will be eligible to receive 80% funding (for businesses employing 1-49 staff) or 50% funding (for businesses employing 50+ staff) towards the cost of specific training courses within the following sectors;
- Leadership & Management
- Marketing & Sales
- Production & Manufacturing
- Compliance and Statutory for Growth

To apply for the funding, please visit www.menterabusnes.cymru/food-and-drink-skills-wales/ and complete the registration form with Menter a Busnes. Once it has been received and reviewed they will be in touch to complete the Skills Diagnostic to identify skills gaps and create a training action plan.

The Personal Learning Account programme looks to provide free* support for you to gain higher level skills, to access a wider range of job opportunities at a higher level in priority sectors.
*If you’re over 19 years old and living in Wales, in employment (including at risk of redundancy and prisoners on day release) earning less than the median income of £32,371 a year, a Personal Learning Account (PLA) is a great way to access part-time study on specific courses.
What is a Personal Learning Account?
PLAs provide fully-funded* learning. You’ll be able to get new skills and qualifications that local employers need to help you progress your current career.
All of the courses on offer are being funded by the Welsh Government.
