Course Overview
NeuroMedia is an inclusive and fully supported course that provides a learning environment that best suits learners with social communication needs such as Autism. This course is designed to meet the needs and abilities of school leavers who would struggle to access college through the traditional mainstream route.

Our Neuro programmes address barriers to learning linked to social communication skills and aim to overcome these to enable learners to progress to mainstream FE or into work/employment in their chosen sector.

The programme will consist of:

● A one-year programme that will be destination-led: work/employment, supported internship or progression into mainstream FE in line with EHCP/IDP outcomes
● The core subject delivery in Media will be differentiated to meet learners' needs at their identified level of learning. Learners will be introduced to the subject to give them a taster so they can progress the following year
● The programme will include Life Skills delivery and will be a core component of the programme: Employability, Health & Wellbeing, Community and Independent Living Skills
● Group industrial tasters will be included in the programme to allow learners to develop their communication and social skills in a real work environment
● Learners will complete Essential Skills Wales qualifications in Maths and English at their working level
● The programme is fully supported
● Personalised transition via ASD mentor
● 4 days a week based in college
● Bespoke classroom - no more than 10 learners in a class
● Based at Deeside
Ongoing assessment via tasks and tutor monitoring
Baseline assessments and individualised targets reviewed using RARPA
There are no formal entry requirements, although users are expected to be interested in the subject area and have a current Individual Development Plan or Education, Health and Care Plan which outlines a complex social communication difficulty with a diagnosis of Autism.
On successful completion of this course learners could progress to mainstream FE courses, employment or a supported internship
Some courses may require kit lists to be purchased. Please see attached kit list for further information.
