Course Overview
This is a practical course for anyone interested in carrying out basic property maintenance, property development or work around the home. The course includes advice on the safe use of tools and guidance on purchasing a ‘maintenance tool-kit’. The course will run 3 times a year with start dates in September, December and March. Please see web-site and part-time prospectus for actual start and finish dates.

Locks, hinges and door handles
Skirting and architraves
Plumbing
The safe use and maintenance of tools and equipment including personal protective equipment
Installing taps and replacing washers
Unblocking traps, sinks and toilets
Replacing toilet syphons
Bleeding radiators
Tiling
The safe use and maintenance of tools and equipment including personal protective equipment
Cutting of tiles safely
Using tile adhesive and spacers to fix tiles to walls
Using grouting
Plastering

Mixing plaster
Patch plastering
Repairs to damaged plaster and plasterboard

There is no formal assessment, however you will be given guidance and feedback on progress of your practical work and there will be a Coleg Cambria certificate for all those who complete the course.
