Level 5 Leadership and Management in Children’s Care, Play, Learning and Development: Practice focuses on developing and demonstrating knowledge, skills, and understanding within a children’s care, play, learning, and development setting. Students will learn to apply a range of leadership and management concepts, theories, and techniques in practice. They will also reflect on their own and others’ knowledge, leadership, and management styles to understand how these impact those they work with, both within and outside their setting.
Learners will be able to lead and manage performance improvement in children’s care, play, learning, and development settings, as well as implement child-centred approaches in practice. They will also be equipped to lead and manage the improvement of services within this sector. Furthermore, learners will develop the ability to work as effective and independent learners, critical and reflective thinkers, and make informed judgments using and interpreting data.
Communication, numeracy, and digital competency skills will also be emphasised, as students learn to effectively utilise these skills within their role in children’s care, play, learning, and development settings. This course is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of leadership and management in this field, preparing students to excel in their careers within the sector.
Learners are required to complete the Level 4 Preparing for Leadership and Management in Children’s Care, Play, Learning and Development qualification prior to taking this qualification.
