Course Overview
Learn the basics of French in a fun and interactive way with a selection of video clips, games, quizzes and presentations to accompany a course booklet. This course will provide you a practical basic introduction to the language and will provide you with speaking & listening, reading and writing practice, in a particular emphasis on spoken French

The course will cover the following content:
● Meeting and greeting, introducing yourself, family and friends.

● Finding out about others, talking and asking about where you and other live and places of interest

● Favourite things including hobbies, pastimes, activities, likes and dislikes

● Introduction and practice of vocabulary commonly used in everyday life such as numbers, colours, family members, food, clothing and common objects.

● Ordering Food and Drinks: Familiarising yourself with vocabulary and phrases used in French restaurants and cafes, such as ordering meals, asking for recommendations, and understanding menus.

● Guidance on websites and resources you can use to support and enhance independent learning

● Key vocabulary content would include: time and dates, seasons, numbers, the alphabet, finding your way around, asking for directions, food and drink, discussing the weather and asking for help to understand

Lessons include printed materials and access to online resources that will help you to understand the basic mechanics of language learning.

Improve your confidence in speaking, meet other keen linguists and develop your grammar skills and test your knowledge.
These sessions will be differentiated to allow for progression.
