Course Overview
This course will help you develop advanced level skills in servicing and repair and is also appropriate for those following Modern Apprenticeship programmes. You will learn how to diagnose more complex faults and repair major units, and learn test and overhaul procedures for engine systems, chassis, transmission and electrical systems.
Practical activities will be assessed in a realistic working environment. Knowledge will be tested by short written assignments and multi-choice questions and answers. Practical assessments will be carried out during workshop activities.
Students need to be literate, numerate and have good communication skills.

This is a fast track programme – learners will need to demonstrate they have either a background or previous knowledge of motor vehicle engineering skills or working in the industry.
Employment in the Motor Vehicle Industry.
Progression into Professional Management within the Motor Industry or Level 4.
Higher apprenticeship in the motor industry.
Foundation Degree course at university.
