To gain this qualification, candidates must successfully achieve the following assessments:
● Three externally set, externally marked assessments, sat under examination conditions (over a two year period).
● Internally set assessments.
● Three externally set, externally marked assessments, sat under examination conditions (over a two year period).
● Internally set assessments.
Applicants will usually be required to satisfy one of the following:
● 5 GCESs at grade C/4 or above including Maths, a Science subject and a subject requiring the use of written English/Welsh (1st Language).
● BTEC “Certificate” or “First Diploma” in a related subject.
● Appropriate knowledge and/or experience gained at work or from other related qualifications.
Applications from students with appropriate alternative qualifications and mature students with relevant industrial experience are welcome and will be given careful consideration.
