Course Overview
Level 3 Diploma in Beauty Therapy at Yale offers you the opportunity to specialise in your chosen career route of general beauty or spa.
An example of some of the units that are common to both pathways consists of:
Anatomy and physiology
Body massage
Indian head massage
Hot stone massage
Awareness of skin cancer for non-healthcare professionals
If you choose the General Beauty Pathway, you will study the following units:
Facial Electrical Treatments - Including Microdermabrasion
Alternatively, if you choose the Spa Pathway, you will study the following units:
Sauna, Steam and Hydrotherapy treatments
Body wrapping and Floatation
(Please note these units are subject to change).
Learners will be completing regular work experience sessions in our state-of-the-art beauty salon and spa whilst studying their qualifications. Developing employability skills is a fundamental aspect of this course.
There is a strong expectation that students should study independently between the timetabled sessions.
In addition to the Level 3 Beauty Therapy qualification, the learning area programme consists of the following compulsory elements to the course:
● Essential Skills Wales training and assessments
● Development of Welsh language skills
● All learners must complete a work placement
Please note that your timetable will include some evening sessions. Dates will be provided by your tutor on induction.
Please note that a kit and uniform are required to be able to study this course.
