Course Overview
This qualification focuses on developing your knowledge and skills to prepare you for employment in the uniformed protective services.
The uniformed protective services sector is diverse and encompasses services such as (but not limited to) the Police, the Fire and Rescue Service, Armed Services and Prison Service, and so on. These services are organised and financed by the government to benefit society.
During your studies, you will undertake a number of academic units such as:
Behaviour and Discipline in the UPS
Citizenship
Leadership, Teamwork and Communication
Health and Fitness in the UPS
Outdoor Adventurous Activities
You will also participate in Fitness for Forces (FFF). This is a weekly fitness or sports session to improve personal fitness levels to meet the entry requirements for your specific public services.

Various methods of assessment including written assignments, PowerPoint presentations, formal exams, role plays and practical assessments.
5 GCSEs at grade C/4 or above including Maths and English Language/Welsh (1st Language)

Successful completion of a relevant level 2 course and working at the equivalent of GCSE grade C/4 in Maths and English/ Welsh (1st Language).

The Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma in Uniformed Protective Services is intended to support progression to further study.
Its primary purpose is to support post-16 learners who want to continue their education through applied learning, and who aim to progress to higher education in a related degree course, and ultimately for learners to progress to employment in the uniformed protective services.
