Course Overview
Looking for an exciting career in Barbering? Then this is the course for you!
The Level 2 Diploma in Barbering is a qualification that has been specifically designed to develop your practical skills in;
• The creative art of cutting men's hair
• The specialist work of cutting facial hair
• How to provide effective shampooing and conditioning or styling services
• How to offer a good consultation service for clients.
Underpinning this qualification you will develop a sound knowledge of Health and Safety and what it is like to work in the hairdressing industry. You will also develop an underpinning knowledge and understanding of the practical skills learned throughout this qualification.
In addition to the Level 2 Barbering qualification, the learning area programme consists of the following compulsory elements to the course:
● Essential Skills Wales training and assessments
● Development of Welsh language skills
● Development of Literacy and Numeracy
● All learners must complete a Work Placement

4 GCSEs at grade D/3 or above including Maths and English/ Welsh (1st Language), or successful completion of a Level 1 programme which must include achievement of numeracy and literacy
