Course Overview
Level 3 Diploma in Complementary Therapy will prepare you for a career as a therapist. The units contained in this qualification cover all the skills and knowledge required for this role. Some examples include:
● Body massage
● Aromatherapy
● Reflexology
Throughout this qualification you will develop your knowledge and understanding of relevant Anatomy and Physiology, Health and Safety and Client care. You will develop a range of technical skills enabling you to provide a variety of advanced treatments.
Learners will be completing regular work experience sessions in our state-of-the-art Beauty salon and Spa whilst studying their qualifications. Developing Employability skills is a fundamental aspect of this course
There is a strong expectation that students should study independently between the timetabled sessions.
In addition to the Level 3 Diploma in Complementary Therapy qualification, the learning area programme consists of the following compulsory elements to the course:
● Essential Skills Wales training and assessments
● Development of Welsh language skills
● All learners must complete a Work Placement
Please note that your timetable will include some evening sessions. Dates will be provided by your tutor on Induction.
Please note that a kit and uniform are required to be able to study this course.

Progression routes for learners will be to HE or to work within the Spa and Beauty Therapy sector.
Learners wishing to progress to HE will require sufficient UCAS points for postgraduate study.
Career opportunities are available through employment in Spas, Clinics, Cruise liners, Hotels and Salons.
