Course Overview
The Level 2 Diploma in Beauty Therapy is aimed at learners who wish to pursue an exciting career in Beauty Therapy.
You will have the opportunity to develop your skills, knowledge and understanding of relevant Anatomy and Physiology, Health and Safety and Consultation techniques. Alongside this you will work with professional brands like Dermalogica and leading nail brands, to develop your skills in manicure, pedicure, waxing, eyelash/eyebrow treatments, facials and make-up applications whilst performing Beauty Therapy services on commercially paying clients.
There will be opportunities to compete locally and nationally in prestigious beauty competitions.
In parallel, you will develop communication and customer service skills, awareness of environmental sustainability and problem solving skills all of which are valued highly by employers.
In addition to the Level 2 Beauty Therapy qualification, you will also be required to complete the following:
● GCSE in English and Maths or Essential Skills Wales
● Development of Welsh language skills, through Welsh in the workplace

4 GCSEs at grade D/3 or above including English/Welsh (1st Language) and Maths. OR Successful completion of a relevant Level 1 programme which must include achievement of numeracy and literacy.

Coursework is by continuous assessment and learners can gain a Pass, Merit or Distinction.
Exciting opportunities await following your level 2 qualification. With the excellent skills you have acquired you can go straight into industry working in a busy high street salon, a luxury spa or beauty retail concessions.
Further progression opportunities are available including Level 3 Diploma in Beauty Therapy Treatments, Level 3 Diploma in Spa Treatments, Level 2 Diploma in Hair Artistry and Make Up or Diploma in Theatrical, Special Effects and Media Make-up.
