Course Overview
The Level 2 Diploma in Hairdressing will help you to develop the skills to become a successful Hairdresser within this exciting and fashion orientated industry. Whilst providing you with the opportunities to work with professional hair brands like L’Oreal.
Throughout this qualification, learners will develop their knowledge and understanding of relevant anatomy and physiology and will acquire knowledge of all relevant testing together with health, safety and legislation requirements necessary for a hairstylist.
You will also develop the knowledge, understanding and skills to consult with clients, provide a range of basic cutting, colouring and lightening services as well as skills in setting, dressing and blow-drying hair.
In parallel, you will develop communication and customer service skills, awareness of environmental sustainability and problem solving skills all of which are valued highly by employers.
There will be opportunities to compete locally and nationally in prestigious hairdressing competitions.
In addition to the Level 2 Hairdressing qualification, you will also be required to complete the following:
● GCSE in English and Maths or Essential Skills Wales
● Development of Welsh language skills, through Welsh in the workplace.

Coursework is by continuous assessment and learners can gain a Pass.
4 GCSEs at grade D/3 or above including Maths and English Language/Welsh (1st Language), or successful completion of the Hairdressing level 1 learning area programme.

On successful completion of this course, learners are able to progress to the Level 3 Hairdressing course or a Modern Apprenticeship in Hairdressing.
