Course Overview
The Level 3 Diploma in Women's Hairdressing will further develop your Hairdressing knowledge, skills and creativity as a Hair Stylist.
This course is a combination of theory and advanced practical skills focused on colouring, corrective colouring, cutting and styling techniques and will enhance creativity and professionalism.
Throughout the course, learners will build a portfolio of their work which will be used as assessment evidence whilst working with professional hair brands such as L’Oreal professional and performing hair services on clients.
The programme will develop the skills and personal qualities that employers and Higher Education Institutions require.
In addition to the Level 3 Hairdressing qualification, you will also be required to complete the following:
● Essential Skills Wales
● Development of Welsh language skills, through Welsh in the workplace.
● All learners must attend a work placement.

Successful completion of a relevant Level 2 programme which must include achievement of numeracy and literacy.

Coursework is by continuous assessment for both practical and theory elements of the course and learners will produce an ongoing portfolio of their achievements.
Progression routes for learners will be to HE or to work within the Hairdressing sector. Learners wishing to progress to HE will require sufficient UCAS points for postgraduate study. Progression to L4 courses in salon management.
Career opportunities are available within a salon as a Stylist, Supervisor or Colour Specialist.
