Course Overview
The Level 2 Diploma in Music Production is an introduction to the technical and creative aspects of the sound and music production industries. During the course you will learn about areas such as Music Production (including mixing, remixing and studio recording), Live Sound Production and the creation of audio for media products, such as film/tv, podcasts and games.

As a vocational course you will be introduced to key topics and skills and guided through practical skills development, and you will then be given a practical opportunity to put those skills into practice through a real-world scenario project. Towards the end of the year you will choose a project which suits your own ambitions and this will form the basis of your final major project.

Students who successfully complete this course will gain the following UAL Level 2 Diploma in Music Performance and Production.
Throughout the course, learners will develop their understanding of the music industry and how to prepare themselves effectively for employment in the area.

Each unit of skill-building study is graded on a pass/fail basis. At the end of each year you will study a final major project unit which enables you to specialise in a defined area of your choice, which will form your final overall grade. You will be assessed on both portfolio & coursework and practical tasks, as well as through participation in real-life vocational productions.
4 GCSEs at grade D/3 including English Language/Welsh (1st Language), or successful completion of a relevant Level 1 qualification.

At Coleg Cambria we would encourage you to do the very best that you can in your exams. The better your grades the more options you will have, and may result in you gaining entry onto a higher level course.
