Course Overview
In choosing Cambria’s HNC in Animal Management you will study a range of topics, giving you a broad base of knowledge relating to diverse and key aspects of the sector. This programme is designed to link to potential career opportunities within the sector and help facilitate your progression into employment or further study, for example the level 5 HND course (LP50200).
The course content will be delivered through a combination of lectures, seminars, practicals, interactive tutorials, visiting speakers and workshops.

WHAT WILL I STUDY?
Graduates who successfully complete this course will obtain a varied skill set well suited for the broad range of opportunities within the animal industry. In a highly competitive sector, Cambria’s students will be equipped to enter the work sector with a range of transferable and practical industry based skills including managing animal collections, delivering teaching instruction and implementing behaviour modification plans.

In addition to the above theory units students also have dedicated tutorial time, study skills sessions and practical sessions to further support their studies.

Assessment will be through a combination of assessment methods including examinations, controlled assessments, assignments, practicals, presentations, case studies, projects and peer observations.
Assignments will be marked electronically and you will be given feedback and pointers for improvement for every assessment.

For learners who have recently been in education, one of the following:
● Level 3 qualification (minimum 120 credits / 720 GLH)in Animal Management or a related subject with a Merit profile – minimum of 64 UCAS Tariff points
●A level grades of DDE – minimum of 64 UCAS Tariff points
●International equivalent of the above
For learners who have not recently been in education, applications will be considered on a case by case basis, but may include one of the following:
●Access to Higher Education Certificate awarded by an approved further education institution in a relevant area
●Related work experience
Applicants should typically have A* to C grade and/or 9 to 4 in GCSE English / Welsh and maths / numeracy.
