Course Overview
This Level 6 programme offers a progression route for practitioners in the post-compulsory sector to top up their existing Level 5 qualifications to a full Bachelor’s degree. The course is designed to bridge the gap between classroom practice and academic theory, focusing on the specific policy landscape of education in Wales.

Applicants must hold a relevant Level 5 qualification in Education and Training, such as a PGCE (PCET), PCE, or a Foundation Degree. As this is a practitioner-led programme, you must be in a teaching or training role within the post-compulsory sector for the duration of the course.
Assessment is 100% coursework-based and mirrors professional practice. It includes:
• An Independent Professional Enquiry involving a research report (8,000–10,000 words) and an oral presentation.
• A case study report regarding education policy and a critical reflective portfolio.
• A teaching intervention plan and the creation of an inclusive learner resource (artefact) with a supporting rationale.

Graduates can progress to senior teaching or curriculum management roles within Further Education and lifelong learning. This degree also provides the required academic foundation for postgraduate study, such as a Master’s in Education (MA/MEd).
Full Time – £9,790 per year
Part Time – £4,895 per year
Students must cover their own travel costs to the Northop campus and to their work placement. Students must cover any minor costs incurred when creating the ‘inclusive learner resource’ artefact for the Pedagogy Module.
