Have you always wanted to work with children to make a positive difference in their lives? Then a career in one of the UK’s fastest growing sectors could be for you. You can learn first-hand how children and young people develop and learn at a number of levels including childcare, nurseries, education, or by doing youth or charity work.

Coleg Cambria’s Childcare, Childhood Studies & Playwork courses are both practical and theory based, with an emphasis on work experience. At every step you’ll be supported by our expert tutors/assessors, who will work with you to develop your knowledge and skills in caring for children as well as helping them to grow and learn.

Studied – Level 3 Child Care Learning and Development

Currently – Studying a Masters in Speech and Language Therapy at Manchester Metropolitan University

“I have always been interested in child development and working with children.

Completing the Level 3 Childcare Learning and Development qualification helped me get into University to study BA (Hons) Disability Studies in Education and gain a role as a Speech and Language Therapy Assistant.

“The course gave me experience of working with children and individuals with speech and communication difficulties, and provided me with the knowledge and understanding of how to support and address communication difficulties through planning, play and meaningful activity.

“I am due to start a Masters in Speech and Language Therapy this September to become a Speech and Language Therapist.”

Currently – Presenter and News Correspondent for the BBC

“I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do in the future, so I chose a range of different subjects to study at A Level. I’m now employed by the BBC as a Presenter and News Correspondent and studying at Yale Sixth gave me the confidence and skills to go onto university. I made some amazing friends, had some great teachers who I’ll never forget and had a great time in Wrexham!

“I look back on my time at Yale with pride and fondness and will never forget it!”
