Course Overview

Ready to produce your own tracks? The UAL Diploma in Music Production gives you the hands-on studio experience and technical skills needed to break into the modern music industry. Whether your goal is to mix live gigs, track bands in the studio, or design sound for film and games, this course builds the practical foundation you need. It also equips you with the technical and academic credentials to take your studies to the university level.

Throughout the course, you will focus on:

* Live Sound Production: Master front-of-house engineering, monitor mixing, and stage operations, while learning what it takes to organise and
manage real live events.
* Studio Recording: Step into our purpose-built studios to run industry-standard sessions. You’ll work directly with musicians to capture and produce
high-quality audio using top-tier equipment.
* Music Production: Master industry-standard DAWs, advanced MIDI, and audio editing techniques to produce, remix, and finalise professional-quality
tracks.

Specialise Your Sound As you progress, you’ll have the freedom to focus on the areas that inspire you most. Dive into audio post-production for film, TV, and gaming, or perfect the art of the final polish by developing professional mixing, mastering, and distribution techniques.

Real-World Experience & Collaboration We have strong links with local music venues and production companies across North Wales and the North West. While studying with us, you'll have the chance to build your portfolio by working on college-run festivals, live gigs, and events. You'll also collaborate directly with students from our Music Performance and Media courses, mirroring how the industry works by bringing real creative projects to life together.

The UK’s creative industries are currently a £150 billion-a-year powerhouse, with estimates showing the sector could create up to one million new jobs across the UK by 2030.
