Ready to launch an exciting career in barbering? This is the course for you! Our Level 2 Diploma in Barbering is designed to develop your practical skills and give you the confidence to excel in this growing industry.
What You'll Learn
You'll gain essential skills in:
- The creative art of cutting men’s hair
- Specialist techniques for cutting facial hair
- Providing effective shampooing, conditioning, and styling services
- Offering excellent client consultation services.
Alongside these practical skills, you'll develop a strong understanding of health and safety in the salon environment and what it's truly like to work in the hairdressing industry. You'll also build the foundational knowledge to support all your hands-on learning.
The Level 2 Barbering qualification includes the following mandatory course components:
● Essential Skills Wales training and assessments
● Development of Welsh language skills
● Development of literacy and numeracy

Applying from a school in Wales: 4 GCSEs at grade D or above, to include: English Language and Literature, or Cymraeg Language and Literature (First Language) (Single or Double Award) and Mathematics and Numeracy (Double Award).
Applying from a school in England: 4 GCSEs at grade 3 or above, to include: English Language and Mathematics.
OR Successful completion of a relevant Level 1 programme which must include achievement of numeracy and literacy.
Progressing Learners (already at the College): Successful completion of a relevant Level 1 programme, plus appropriate qualifications in Communication and Numeracy, or their GCSE equivalent.
At Coleg Cambria we would encourage you to do the very best that you can in your exams. The better your grades the more options you will have, and may result in you gaining entry onto a higher level course.

Upon successful completion, this qualification can open doors to exciting roles directly within the barbering industry. You could start as a Junior Stylist or even work as an independent barber!
