Kirsty Parr
Studied – Foundation Skills
Currently – Studying Level 2 Health and Social Care
“I chose to study on the Foundation Skills course as I didn’t achieve my GCSEs in school and needed a starting place to continue in education.
“This course has benefit me in way more ways than I ever thought it would. It has helped me ease back into education without feeling too overwhelmed with the workload, this course has also improved my confidence massively and eased my anxiety at the same time.
“All of the staff on Foundation Skills are really understanding, and they’re always thinking of new ways they can help each student as an individual reach their own personal goals and their goals towards their future and education. The Foundation Skills staff really went above and beyond for me, enabling me to pass my Maths and English and pushing me to go straight to Health and Social Care Level 2, which at the time I never thought was possible as I was full of self doubt. The staff didn’t give up on me and they managed to help me get a place on the course I’m currently studying.”
Frankie McCamley
Studied – A Level English, Drama, Maths and French
Currently – Presenter and News Correspondent for the BBC
“I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do in the future, so I chose a range of different subjects to study at A Level. I’m now employed by the BBC as a Presenter and News Correspondent and studying at Yale Sixth gave me the confidence and skills to go onto university. I made some amazing friends, had some great teachers who I’ll never forget and had a great time in Wrexham!
“I look back on my time at Yale with pride and fondness and will never forget it!”
