Are you ready to bring your creativity to life? Whether you see yourself in the spotlight or making the magic happen behind the scenes, this course is designed for you. You will explore a wide range of roles in the theatre and develop the practical skills needed to kickstart your career in the creative industries.

This course is all about hands-on experience. You will work on exciting projects, learning how to create theatre from every angle. During your time with us, you’ll master:

* Performance Skills: Develop your acting, vocal techniques, and movement to captivate an audience.
* Production Skills: Get hands-on with stage management, lighting, sound, and prop making.
* Professional Collaboration: Work alongside industry professionals and take part in public performances to build
your confidence and teamwork.

We are also here to support your personal growth. You’ll have the opportunity to develop your English and Maths skills to Level 2 or GCSE Grade C/4, ensuring you have the best possible start for university or the job market.

4 GCSEs at grades D/3 or above including English Language/Welsh (1st Language), OR successful completion of a relevant Level 1 programme which must include achievement of numeracy and literacy.

All applicants are required to participate in a workshop audition prior to acceptance. This is an opportunity to meet your tutors and for them to assess your current skills and knowledge within Performing and Production Arts.

At Coleg Cambria we would encourage you to do the very best that you can in your exams. The better your grades the more options you will have, and may result in you gaining entry onto a higher level course.
Your progress is measured through nine units designed to showcase your growing talents. The final unit determines your overall grade—Pass, Merit, or Distinction—and is assessed by both your tutors and external experts to ensure you are reaching professional standards
Completing this one-year course opens doors to a variety of exciting roles. Employers across the creative industries highly value the diverse skill set you will gain by understanding both performance and technical backstage work.

Once you have successfully completed this diploma, you’ll have a clear pathway to progress to a Level 3 qualification in Performing and Production Arts right here at Coleg Cambria. This is your first step toward a professional career in theatre or further training at university.
