Ready to take center stage? "This innovative programme uses a 'Production Company' model to give you a full, hands-on experience in both the artistic and technical sides of the industry". Whether you want to be under the spotlight or master the magic behind the scenes, you will develop the professional skills needed to launch an exciting career in the creative arts.

What You’ll Learn

You can choose to study this course as a one-year Diploma or stay for a second year to complete the full Extended Diploma. You will work on live productions, including plays, musicals, and music gigs, while collaborating with industry professionals.

On the artistic side, you’ll develop skills in:

- Dance and Drama: Perfect your movement and acting techniques.
- Singing and Musical Theatre: Build your vocal strength and performance confidence.

On the technical side, you’ll gain expertise in:

- Stage Management and Lighting Design: Learn how to run a show and create atmosphere with light.
- Live and Recorded Sound: Master the tools used to make every performance sound professional.
- Prop Making and Scenic Construction: Discover how to build the worlds that audiences see on stage.

Your journey also includes the Welsh Baccalaureate, ensuring you are fully prepared for university or your first job.

5 GCSEs at grade C/4 or above including English Language/Welsh (1st Language) OR Successful completion of a relevant Level 2 programme which must include achievement of numeracy and literacy.


Year 1 (Diploma): You will complete eight units. Your final grade is based on Unit 8, a collaborative performance project where you can show off everything you’ve learned.

Year 2 (Extended Diploma): You will complete four extra units (9–12). Your overall grade comes from Unit 12, an extended project that is checked by both your tutors and outside experts.

Grading: Projects are graded as Pass, Merit, or Distinction.

This course is your gateway to a wide range of exciting roles in the creative industries. You will be ready to progress to university or specialist performing arts schools for:

– Performance: Acting, Dancing, or Musical Theatre
– Technical Roles: Stage Management, Sound Technology, Event Management or Lighting Design
– Specialist Engineering: Entry into Broadcast or Electrical Engineering and Live Event Production.
